Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Umbrella Web ("we", "us") makes WordPress plugins and web services. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and what you can ask of us. Each product has its own section below that says exactly what that product collects.
Who we are
Umbrella Web, Philippines. Contact: support@umbrellaweb.net.
This website
When you visit umbrellaweb.net, our host Hostinger records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) to keep the site running and secure.
If you send us a message through the contact form, the form emails your name, email address and message to our inbox; the website itself doesn't store them. We keep them to reply to you and, if we work together, for the length of the project.
This site uses no analytics, no advertising and no cookies. Its fonts are served from our own server, so your browser doesn't contact anyone else when you read it.
Purchases
Paid plans are sold by Freemius, Inc., which acts as the seller (merchant of record). Freemius collects your billing details and payment information and handles sales tax and invoices; we never see your card number. Freemius shares with us your name, email address, the plans you bought, and the sites your license is activated on, so we can provide the service and support. See the Freemius privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to support@umbrellaweb.net. If you are in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority. We answer within 30 days.
Changes
When a product is added or changes what it collects, we update this page and the date above.

Upsure
Upsure (free version)
The free plugin sends no data to us or to anyone else. Everything happens on your own server:
- Backups of plugins and themes are stored in your site's uploads folder.
- The checks load your own pages from your own server.
- Alert and test emails are sent by your site to the address you enter in the settings.
Upsure Pro
Pro's visual check runs on our screenshot service, which starts only after you enter a license key. During each plugin or theme update, your site sends us:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your site's address and the page addresses you chose to check (up to 10) | To load and screenshot those pages |
| Areas to ignore that you entered (CSS selectors) | To leave those areas out of the screenshots |
| Your license key | To confirm your plan |
Our service then loads those pages as an anonymous first-time visitor: no cookies, no login, nothing behind a password. The screenshots therefore show only what anyone can see on your public site, which may include names, photos or other content you publish there.
What we keep, and for how long. The before, after and "what changed" screenshots of each check, with the page addresses and the result, for 30 days; then they are deleted automatically. The links in your alert email work only for that time.
Where it runs. Our screenshot service runs on servers in the European Union, provided by Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany. Screenshots are stored with Cloudflare R2. These providers process the data only on our behalf.
What we never do. We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or screenshot anything other than the pages your site asks us to check.
You can stop all of this at any time by removing the license key in Tools → Upsure. The free features keep working.
Product
Umbrella Web B2B Pricing for WooCommerce
B2B Pricing is a free WooCommerce plugin. It runs entirely on your store and sends no data to us or to any other third-party service. We never receive your customers' details.
What it stores on your site
When someone submits the wholesale application form, the plugin stores their contact name, email address, company, tax or VAT ID and note as a private record in your site's database (Users › Wholesale Applications). Only administrators and shop managers can see it, and it is emailed to the notification address you set.
- The visitor's IP address is not stored. It is used only to limit how often applications can be sent, as a hashed temporary counter that expires after an hour.
- No account is created until you approve an application. Approval creates the account (or adds the Wholesale Customer role to an existing one) and emails the applicant a link to set a password.
Your customers' rights
Applications are included in WordPress's Tools › Export Personal Data and are deleted by Tools › Erase Personal Data (matched by the email address on the application, including trashed ones). The plugin adds suggested wording to Settings › Privacy › Policy Guide that you can use in your own store's privacy policy.
Who is responsible
The data stays in your store, so you, the store owner, decide what to collect and are responsible for handling it under the law that applies to you. If you delete the plugin, its settings are removed; wholesale customer accounts, the Wholesale Customer role and the stored applications are kept until you remove them.
